For this guide, we will use the free version of the Chaty plugin by Premio.
Step 1: Install and Activate the Plugin
- Log in to your WordPress dashboard.
- Navigate to Plugins > Add New Plugin.
- In the search bar, type Chaty.
- Click Install Now next to the plugin and activate it once installed.
Step 2: Configure the widget
- Once activated, go to Chaty > Create New Widget in the WordPress admin panel.
- Add your preferred social or contact channels by clicking on the icon.
- If you only need WhatsApp, just scroll down to enter your WhatsApp number.
- After entering your WhatsApp number, click Save Widget and it should show immediately on your website.
In most cases, you need to purge your site cache if you have caching plugin installed (ex. WP Rocket or LiteSpeed Cache) to fix any cache-related issues.
